Connect your case’s front-panel cables

Identify the power switch, reset switch, and indicator LEDs using the correct header map.

Start with the right header map

Use your board’s official manual. MSI boards may label system-panel headers JFP1 and JFP2; other manufacturers use different names. Header placement and assignments are model-specific.

Connect one cable at a time

  1. Shut down, turn off the power supply, and unplug the power cable before connecting internal cables.
  2. Locate the system-panel header in the manual’s board layout.
  3. Match POWER SW and RESET SW to their documented pin pairs.
  4. Match the power and drive-activity LEDs to their documented positive and negative pins. Observe polarity for LEDs.
  5. Check the connections against the diagram before restoring power.

Keep nearby headers separate

Front USB, audio, RGB, and system-panel connectors have different functions. A similar-looking plug is not proof of compatibility. Never force a connector onto a header.

This checklist intentionally does not invent a universal pinout. Open the model’s original manual for numbered pins.
