Gigabyte B760M DS3H DDR4: why there is no Wi-Fi adapter

The B760M DS3H DDR4 without an AX suffix has wired networking. Check the exact model before searching for an onboard Wi-Fi driver.

B760M DS3H DDR4 is the non-AX model covered here: its onboard networking is wired Ethernet. A Wi-Fi driver cannot add wireless hardware that this motherboard does not include.

Read the full product name

Check B760M DS3H DDR4 and the revision directly on the board or label. Similar DS3H names, DDR5 versions and AX variants can have different equipment.

Compare the LAN and rear-I/O sections of Gigabyte's specification with the physical board. An RJ45 network socket is an Ethernet connection, not a wireless antenna connector.

Get online with existing hardware

Connect Ethernet to a working router or switch. If Windows lacks a suitable driver, download the matching LAN package from this model's support page. Another computer and a USB drive can transfer it to an offline system.

If a separate USB or PCIe Wi-Fi adapter is installed, identify that adapter and use its own manufacturer's driver. It does not become an onboard Gigabyte wireless device because it is connected to this board.

Before buying a wireless adapter

Check available USB ports or slots, case clearance, operating-system support and antenna placement. A large graphics card can obstruct a nominally free slot.

Match an adapter to the connection you can provide. This guide does not recommend a particular product or promise a wireless speed; its first purpose is establishing whether the necessary hardware exists.

Keep a copy of the adapter driver before relying on it as the system's only network connection.

If Ethernet is missing too

Separate that problem from the absence of onboard Wi-Fi. Check the cable and router port, then look for the Ethernet controller or an unknown device in Device Manager. Record its error code and Windows version.

Avoid downloading a driver for an AX variant simply because it shares part of the name. Do not flash the BIOS to make a non-existent Wi-Fi adapter appear.

If you need support, state whether the problem concerns onboard Ethernet or an added wireless device, including the latter's complete model number.
